Ensuring 'Never Again'
At 10:33 a.m. EST, Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter summed up the action taken by Israel overnight:
“We talk a lot and we learn a lot about the Holocaust. The most important thing is, when someone says they’re going to kill you, believe them. We didn’t have an Army, an Air Force, a Mossad eighty years ago. And much of the world didn’t believe Hitler when he said he planned to annihilate the Jews and we lost six million of our people.
“This is a new Hitler, who repeats every day his intention — his theological commitment — to eradicate the State of Israel. He even has a big clock in the middle of Tehran counting the days until our destruction.
“We can’t play games. We’re here to live, we’re here to live in peace, but those who are going to challenge our will to live in peace are going to have to be challenged by us. And that’s what we’re in the process of doing now.
“Iran will not have a nuclear path to a nuclear bomb.”

Israel is doing the heavy lifting for the rest of the world. It's what Jews do. Israel's pre-emptive and technically accomplished strike on Iran is the stuff of legend. Given how close Iran was to nuclear weaponry, Israel could wait no longer. Our tiny homeland is always under siege, always defamed, and always endangered. It is also the bravest country on Earth. Israel is, truly, a miracle. How much is due to human genius and how much does God play a hidden role? I really cannot say, but I began reciting psalms. The Israeli chief rabbis have suggested Psalms 20, 21, and 130. Despite everything, no matter Israel's external enemies and the rift between Israelis--it is an honor to belong to such a people.
