As an American Jew with Israeli cousins who live in Tel Aviv and friends who live elsewhere in Israel, I think I get it.
I am impressed that the author had enough courage to say "Israel" when asked where she was from by a London cabbie.
I always say it - to everyone. I’m intrigued to see their response. It’s usually actually very supportive - surprising!
